My Journey of Life

Terengganu: Gymnastics = Porn

Terengganu: Gymnastics = Porn

To my Terengganu friends, this is not a personal attack on you, unless you think like extremists whom I shall describe below. I am infuriated recently reading the news where the PAS-led Terengganu state government is punishing all the state gymnastics athletes and gymnastics enthusiasts by pulling out from rhythmic gymnastics and women’s gymnastics as they required athletes to expose their bodies (read the news by clicking on the link). Before we go further, lets sooth our eyes with Farah Ann‘s picture. Please comment below if you have a hard-on.

Respect to Women

In order to come out with such decisions, you need to have no respect for women, as you are directly admitting that women should serve as a sexual tool for men. Women is not a carrier of vagina to ease your sexual tension, women made up half of the world population who has given you life and raising you. In return, those women athletes have the rights to choose their attire fit for the events, though the sports might require them to expose their body parts, who are you in taking away their rights to participate? Thank God that Farah is not from Terengganu but Selangor.

I am not a feminist, but demanding the simple equal rights for all humans is the most basic requirement for us to move progressively. There might be difference in roles, but taking the options away from anyone is robbing the world of its fairness. When you cannot do some basic fairness, please do not preach for justice.

PU Rahmat admittedly getting hard-on looking at Farah Ann.

Respect to Men

On top of that, you are putting men into shame. I am not a fan of gymnastics, therefore watching gymnastics yields me no entertainment. If men are knowingly tuning in to women gymnastics to gain sexual arousal, I think the problem lies within men, not the sports itself. When men are going to watch gymnastics for their pleasure, gymnastics should not be equated to pornography, one is a sport, another is a money-generating tool preyed on the demand for fulfilling sexual fantasies.

If sex is all you think about, and you cannot take your eyes away from women bodies, you might as well think about your purpose in life. There are so many things that are robbing your attention if you are weak, gymnastics can never be the one that need intervention from the government. Based on my principle of freedom, I am against the blockage to porn sites as well, just saying. Remember, if there is a will, there is a way.

Respect to Sports

Furthermore, it shows how hollow is your brain (if you ever have one) when it comes to history. While gymnastics is a training for body flexibility during war, you are perceiving the sports as being a show of human bodies. I know I know, the gymnastics has not much practical use nowadays, but why do you not banning javelin throw as well?

Respect to Islam

Worst still, you are telling non-Muslims that Muslims are a whole bunch of perverts who have no self-discipline and will fall into committing crimes at the slightest of hints. So you are telling me that the best tool to weaken your faith in Islam could be a woman with the best body shape? I do not have any concern when you drafted a guideline for shariah-compliant attire, but I do have concern when the guideline becomes your by-law to quit some sports without formal hearing. So, is this to serve your personal agenda?

I was being told that Islam respects women and improves their status in the society. However, what you are trying to convey is totally opposite. I believe Islam is a faith that helping its followers to progress through time, not digress back to the Arabic dark ages. At the same time, I do not wish Malaysia becoming a theocracy that is being ruled by dictatorial extremists.

My Words

Youth Development, Sports and Non-Government Development Committee chairman Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah said the state decided to withdraw from several sport events because they did not conform to Islamic rules.

To my consolation, there are still sane people out there, including Youths and Sports Minister YB Syed Saddiq. To my readers who have read so far down, I wish you will agree with me by calling out those elected officials whose brains are not used to serve the people but for political gain. I am telling myself to keep writing, and thanks for your support.

P. S. For Terengganu people who are fans of female gymnastics, there are 12 more states you can move to, do not despair.
